Bill Ward
Multi-Award Winning Photographer and Actor
Bill Ward is a multi-award winning photographer and actor. He won the inaugural Adobe Prize at the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015, Best Seascape at Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020, and was runner up in the Creative Photography category at Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2021.
He’s gives talks at Festivals, Shows, and Camera Clubs all over the world, and is delighted to be a judge for UK Landscape Photographer of the Year. He is proud to be an Ambassador for Pentax Ricoh UK, a Tour/Workshop Leader for Light and Land as well as running his own highly successful 121’s, and shoots for the photographic agencies Robert Harding and ArenaPal.
As an actor, he has appeared in over 30 TV Shows and Films, and over 50 Plays since turning professional in 2000. He is probably best known for playing the rather unpleasant builder Charlie Stubbs in the UK TV show Coronation Street for over 400 episodes, for which he won many awards.
A creative photography specialist, as well as an innovative landscape and seascape photographer, Bill is particularly drawn to water, and has been a regular writer and contributor to the worldwide ICM Photography Magazine since its inception. He believes in improvising, meeting the landscape on its own terms, and listening and responding in the moment.
His photography is a response, and in many ways an antidote, to the time he spends as an actor working in the public eye.
The Nuts and Bolts of ICM
Join Pentax Ambassador Bill Ward as he takes a deep dive into the “what” and the
“how” of Intentional Camera Movement.
One of the UK’s leading creative photographers for well over a decade, Bill will
discuss both his unique philosophy for creative photography, as well as delving into
the technical specifics of the genre.
He’ll investigate all sorts of different ICM variables: shutter speed, individual moves
and gestures, quality and speed of movement - what you get, and how you get it.
Bill gives talks and seminars all over the world - if you’ve ever wondered about the
specifics of ICM, or have tried it and not quite had the results that you’re looking for,
this talk is not to be missed!
